Wolverhampton LGBT+ started as a network of organisations, businesses, community groups and individuals, who came together to support and improve local services for lesbian, gay, bi-sexual, transgender and those questioning (LGBT+) folk in The Black Country.
Being an ally of Wolverhampton LGBT+ is open to any organisation, business or group operating within The Black Country or surrounding areas, also to those operating nationally .
As a supporter or ally of Wolverhampton LGBT+ you will be passionate about promoting equality and diversity. You will also have a keen interest in LGBT+ issues, with a desire to improve services for people living in, working in and visiting the The Black Country.
As a supporter or ally you will have access to knowledge and expertise from a range of organisations, all working towards a common goal.
Wolverhampton LGBT+ agree to

Being inclusive in everything that we do, deliver and promote
Promoting LGBT+ services and events, or services and events that are likely to be of benefit to the local LGBT+ community.
Offering networking opportunities.
Signposting to other organisations

Declaration
As a supporter or ally of Wolverhampton LGBT+, you agree to:
- Support our aims and objectives by contributing to our action plan.
- Commit resources where possible to projects and initiatives, and to actively participate in our activities.
- Actively promote our news, services and events.
- Act in a manner consistent with our goal of improving “the health, wellbeing, inclusion and equality of LGBT+ people.”
- Use our logo in conjunction with your own logo, where appropriate, in relation to projects endorsed by us.
- Respect the views and suggestions of other members and to act in a professional manner.
- Consider words/actions/language which may cause offense to the LGBT+ community and avoid at all costs.
- Actively challenge actions/language which may cause offense to members of the LGBT+ community.
- Not forward/share emails, information or minutes from WLGBT+ to others unless given express permission to do so.
- Not undertaking any illegal activity.
- Not bringing the reputation of WLGBT+ charity into disrepute by association.
- Not associating the logo or name of WLGBT+ with any events/scenarios which have not first been agreed by trustees.
- Deliver services/engagements which are inclusive for all members of the LGBT+ community.
- Train all staff in LGBT+ awareness to ensure that an inclusive message is woven throughout all activities/services.
- Ensure your organisation’s equality and diversity policies where applicable are coherent with our aims and objectives.
- Not tarnish our reputation of by using our name or logo in a negative way, including activities on social media.
- Consider opportunities to raise funds for Wolverhampton LGBT+.
- Pay an annual ally donation where applicable. All donations received continue to support our services and activities.
