Our Mission:
We create and sustain inclusive communities by connecting LGBT+ people and allies throughout Wolverhampton and the Black Country, running community-led social spaces, and providing signposting and support services, informed by our lived experience.
Mission statement
Wolverhampton LGBT+ serves LGBT+ adults in Wolverhampton and The Black Country to include their friends and relatives. We provide support by offering;
- group activities,
- learning events,
- social meetings,
- counselling (see: Inclusive Counselling),
- mindful exercises (see: Yoga),
- advocacy and advice.
Much of our support is offered free of charge so that cost is not a barrier to accessing services.
We offer these services and support so that no-one feels alone, everyone feels included and the LGBT+ community is considered and seen in terms of the wider city plans.
Our mission is to serve our beautiful and diverse community with an aim to reduce isolation, improve mental and physical health and to ensure that the local LGBT+ community has an equal chance to thrive.

Vision statement
Our vision is for the LGBT+ community in Wolverhampton and The Black Country to feel they have a service to lean on and support them whether that be in times of need or as a permanent hand of friendship.
We intend to develop and manage the U.K’s leading hub for LGBT+ services and activities, a haven for all ages with dedicated onsite rooms and space to deliver safe and welcoming support.
- Our hub will provide inclusive and stimulating services in tune with the wants and needs of the community.
- Listening, responding, developing and delivering will lead our plans.
- Our LGBT+ community will champion the way and be involved at every step.
- We plan to offer ongoing opportunities for LGBT+ people to develop their skills and knowledge to thrive in their own city and towns.
By providing this safe space we envisage serving more of the estimated 32,000 people living in The Black Country whom identify as LGBT+. We aim to reduce discrimination towards our LGBT+ family and increase harmony within the wider population.
